About the Recipe
The IxCacao Sunlit Elixir, crafted by me, Rocio, celebrates the divine feminine essence of cacao, reflecting the nurturing qualities of the night and the moon. Cacao serves as a gateway to spiritual realms, inviting you to explore its mysteries.
Corn, symbolizing the masculine, was used to energize and sustain the body for work in the milpa, connecting deeply with the earth. As you prepare and enjoy this elixir, embrace the balance between the invigorating strength of corn and the mystical presence of cacao, celebrating the eternal harmony of day and night, and the unity of earth and spirit.

Preparation Time:
Brew preparation: 10 minutes (plus cooling time)
Cacao preparation: 5 minutes
Step 1: Prepare the Brew
Boil 4-5 cups of water with the cinnamon stick and cardamom seeds in a pot.
Simmer on low heat until the water is infused and has a brown color.
Remove from heat and let it cool.
Strain the brew and store it in a jar or container in the refrigerator. Use within three days.
Tip:Â For a smoother texture, blend the cinnamon and cardamom before straining.
Step 2: Prepare the Cacao
When ready to make the cacao, heat 1 cup of the brewed spice water in a pot on very low heat.
Add 1 tbsp of Pinole (or organic corn masa powder) to the heated water.
Stir slowly to dissolve the Pinole completely, avoiding lumps.
Once the Pinole is fully incorporated, add 42 grams of cacao.
Stir or whisk using a molinillo or your preferred whisk until the cacao is fully mixed.
Adjust the consistency with more brewed water if needed or add more Pinole for thickness.
