About the event

About the event

Join us in this special event of rhythm and unity at our special fundraiser event, hosted by the Drumming Circle Sisters in Ventura County. Join us as we come together to support the cacao gatekeepers of Tabasco, Mexico, specifically the Yocot'an Tribe, in their noble efforts.

Why Cacao?

The choice of cacao as the focal point of the gathering is intentional, as this sacred plant is believed to have the ability to open the heart, stimulate the mind, and enhance spiritual awareness. In the context of a cacao healing circle, we have the opportunity to explore our inner worlds, set intentions, and experience personal healing in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Central to the experience is the quality of the cacao ingested. It must be of ceremonial grade, carefully prepared to unlock its ancient codes and facilitate a deeper connection with the plant's intrinsic wisdom.

The Sacred Cacao we share hails from Ruk'u'x Ulew, a collective owned entirely by the Maya people, where indigenous women craft artisanal ceremonial cacao grown in Guatemala. This ceremonial-grade cacao is revered for its purity and potency, allowing participants to access the full spectrum of its healing properties and transformative energies.

What to expect?

  • Healing for the Earth, the collective and the self.
  • Drumming Circle and Medicine Songs: Group percussion music for deeper connection.
  • Smudging: Burning herbs for cleansing energy.
  • Setting Intentions: Focus on personal goals and visions.
  • Community & Connection: Shared experience fosters unity and support.
  • Healing & Transformation: Stress release, insights, and self-connection.
  • Integration & Reflection: Post-circle sharing and processing for personal growth. (Optional)

Note: Cacao is NOT considered to be psychoactive.

Here are some tips on how to dress and what to bring:

  • Wear loose, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably.
  • Opt for layers so you can adjust your clothing based on the temperature.
  • Consider wearing socks or comfortable slippers that are easy to slip off if you prefer to be barefoot during the circle.
  • Choose footwear that you can easily take on and off.
  • Bring a cozy blanket to wrap yourself for comfort.
  • Consider brining a cushion or pillow to sit on or for support your back during the circle.
  • Water bottle
  • Journal and Pen
  • Bring your personal items that help you feel grounded and comfortable, such as crystals, essential oils, or a special talisman.

All proceeds from this event will be donated towards empowering the Yocot'an Tribe and their sacred cacao project. Let's make a difference and show our solidarity with these guardians of ancient traditions. Together, we can make a meaningful impact!
